How It Was Built

This site was initially produced in 5 or 6 hours in December 2025 by issuing instructions to large language models like Claude Haiku 4.5 and Gemini (2.5 Flash and Pro) using VS Code and OpenRouter, as well as the Context7 MCP Server.

Some of the content was written from previously prepared materials. It costs nothing to run and I spent less than $20NZD pulling it together. It's built using Eleventy and deployed on Vercel.

I first started using AI coding tools in January 2025 and this site was deployed in December 2025. You can do this too!

Recent Shift to Local AI

In August 2026, I shifted to maintaining this site using local AI systems and Pi, the development harness. This move reflects my broader interest in reducing reliance on cloud-based AI services and building workflows that are more private, cost-effective, and under my own control.

The site's content and structure are now managed primarily through local LLMs run on my own hardware, with Pi serving as the development environment that ties everything together — from code generation and editing to deployment workflows.

It's an experiment in self-reliant AI-assisted development, and I'm enjoying the process.
